IMS Associates, Inc. was a microcomputer manufacturing company in California, responsible for one of the earliest achievements in personal computing, the IMSAI 8080.
The company was founded in 1973 by William Millard, and its first product was the IMSAI 8080 in 1975.

IMS stood for Information Management Sciences.

Innovations: It was the first computer that we can consider a clone since it was fully compatible with the Altair 8800, which was older.

The computer had an Intel 8080 CPU and an S-100 bus, copied from the Altair 8800.

Later versions were equipped with a 3 MHz Intel 8085 CPU.
