The Dutch company Tulip Computers entered the world of PC compatible devices with great success at the European level.

Founded in 1979, the company initially focused on the PC clone market, even sponsoring football teams (such as Crystal Palace Football Club) with its brand.
It overcame a bankruptcy between April and August 1998 and diversified its market into consumables, peripherals, and expansion cards, achieving great success with the Conceptronic brand.

It also acquired the historic Commodore brand after its bankruptcy in September 1997, distributing consumables, multimedia keyboards, and other peripherals. In 2003 and 2004, it attempted to enter the entertainment market with that brand, eventually selling it to Yeahronimo Media Ventures for €24 million.
Negotiations took place in 2004, and the deal was closed in March 2005, with payments spread out until 2010.

In 2005, it acquired Devil, the fifth-largest German distributor of computers and IT products.
