An improved PAL version (800XLF) was also sold in Europe with the new "Freddie" chip (used in the "XE" series). In France, it was sold with a "Freddie" chip and SECAM video (SECAM Rose) with a DIN-6 connector (instead of the DIN-5 connector of the PAL version).
