British company dedicated to the manufacture of joysticks and other peripherals for 8-bit computers.
Specifically, it developed its own control standard for Atari-standard joysticks (with DE-9 connectors) for Sinclair ZX Spectrum computers, which allowed the joystick state to be read directly from the Z80 bus, on port 31.
This method was quickly adopted by other interface manufacturers, becoming quite popular. Many games therefore allowed users to select between control options: keys, joystick, or the Kempston joystick.
It produced a line of joysticks called "Competition-pro," a name very similar to those of another company at the time.
