Peripherals and components for personal computers by the brand Oki

Brand: Oki
Headquarters: JP Japan
Since: 1881

Oki is a major Japanese manufacturer whose products include fax machines, computer printers with black and white and color laser technology (laser with LED technology), dot matrix printers, and consumer electronics products.

In addition to minicomputers such as the OKITAC series developed in the mid-1960s, OKI began supplying various I/O devices, electro-printers, and dot matrix printers, primarily to the financial industry, in the 1970s.

In 1972, OKI established Oki Data Corporation (ODC: now OKI Data Americas), a Japan-US joint venture based in Philadelphia, to develop the DP100 dot matrix printers.

In May 1980, OKI launched the successful IF-800 series of business PCs.
These were equipped with its Microline printers.

And it became known to the general public as a manufacturer of printers for personal microcomputers with the low-cost models of the Okimate 10 and 20 lines.

In the early 1990s, the Japanese economy was in the midst of a recession that continued after the collapse of the economic bubble, which also dealt a severe blow to OKI's business. In October 1994, OKI spun off its printer and facsimile business.
