Telix is a shareware telecommunications software for MS-DOS, written by Colin Sampaleanu in 1986. It was used to connect to bulletin boards via a traditional telephone line.
It is considered one of the most popular programs of the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Two of the software's key features were the integrated Z-Modem file transfer protocol (no third-party applications required) and a scripting system called SALT (Script Application Language for Telix), very similar to C.
Telix supported Hayes commands for communicating with modems and full ANSI emulation for color displays.
