Investrónica was originally an importer of electronic equipment, a subsidiary of El Corte Inglés.
Among other things, it was the exclusive importer of British Sinclair computers. When a new tariff law increased the price of these devices, Investrónica began manufacturing them in Spain.
Later, it expanded into the manufacture of "IBM-compatible" PCs.
The company was located in the Community of Madrid, with its manufacturing plant in Tres Cantos and its warehouse and distribution logistics center in Getafe.
